Lockyer's Middle School

Sustainability

At Lockyer's Middle School we are committed to educating our pupils about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and making a difference in the world.

It is vital that young people are committed to making a change in the world as part of the 2020 Global Goals for Sustainable Development.  The agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 and they provide an outline for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.

Yearly, we take part in The World's Largest Lesson so that we can focus on the Sustainable Development Goals.

TerraCycle Pen Recycling

TerraCycle is eliminating the idea of waste by recycling the "non-recyclable".  Staff and pupils are taking part in recycling our used pens.  Writing instruments are simple tools that we use on a daily basis and we believe that we can help towards the sustainable development goals 11 and 12.
